Fashion Portraits | Heather

Last week I had the privilege of shooting with the lovely and talented Heather Antos. She is an actor, model, producer, singer... and not to mention, gorgeous! I want to thank her for braving the sunny-but-chilly weather to get out on the town with me (literally - we walked all over downtown Jackson). Studio Headshots | Cassie

Studio Portrait Sessions

After doing some studio portraits with Deonna and Simone (see last post), I was HOOKED. I have done some studio portrait work in the past, but always preferred natural light / on-location shooting. I can tell that I'll be doing a lot more studio work in the future. There really is a very intricate art form to it, and there is so much you can offer in a studio setting.

The studio I'm using just recently had its grand opening and I'll be using it quite a bit more, I suspect. To celebrate, I wanted to offer professional headshots at a discounted rate! To those of you who are entrepreneurs, professionals or artists... this is a great opportunity. For $35, you get a 15-minute studio sitting with me, and I'll email you 2 retouched high-resolution digital images after the session. (Of course if you prefer them on disc, there is that option as well.)

Studio Workshop

Last night several Jackson area photographers and I had the opportunity to give the new Metro Photo Studio a peek. I was able to get a couple of my beautiful friends to model for us while we experimented with the lighting and different shooting areas. Thanks to the guys of Jacksonopolis for hosting this awesome event and allowing us to try out the studio setups! And thanks to our gorgeous and willing models, Deonna and Simone!

Declan the Bookworm

I have just been dying for the opportunity to share these photos since our session on Monday! After the session, my PC went on the fritz and I had to do a complete factory restore. Luckily I was able to backup all my precious photo files. Ah, the joys of PC ownership :)

For this session, little Declan's lovely parents, whom I've known for years, really wanted some special 1-year photos. His birthday was in December, but I was photographically out of commission at the time so they resorted to a retail store whose name I will not mention here. Luckily I was able to replace my camera and they came back to me for some real photos ;) Since Declan's birthday falls smack dab in the middle of winter, we wanted to stay nice and warm especially since the poor guy was just getting over a bad cold. While going over ideas, Mieka, his mother, told me he just loves books. Then it hit me, the Jackson Book Exchange would be the perfect place! 

So glad Declan is finally feeling better, and it's always such a pleasure photographing this gorgeous family. 

The VanSchoicks - Again!

These are from a photo shoot that I did with the lovely VanSchoick family: Mieka, Parker, and their handsome little boy Declan back in the fall - they are such a fun family! I can't wait to do another photo shoot with them in the next couple of weeks, and it will be something a little different than you're used to seeing. 2013 is going to be a great year!
